Day 120

After the storms, our power has stabilized, the skies have cleared, and I can show you a close up of one of my cherry trees!

I think this will be a week of flowers.

I've whined about my weather, but my thoughts are with those in the south who have endured terrible tornadoes - my 50MPH winds were nothing by comparison!

Day 118

Staring up our 300 year old beech tree, while wandering around the yard during today's power outage. At least there's light out here.

Day 117

This little birdie flew out of a tree when I was wandering around, and perched atop the gate post. He almost looks like part of the wrought iron, doesn't he?

Day 115

The hunt for spring continues, with a quick look at my purple flowering plum tree. A cursory glance doesn't reveal spring, does it?

Day 114

Happy Easter, one and all!
I love this basket, which I bought about 20 years ago. Hand painted ceramic imported from Portugal, the bunny fills it with leftovers after he's filled the kids' baskets. Not good for the waistline, of course, but fun anyway!

Day 113

Wall tree isn't really a sign of spring, because it's green year round, but it should be flowering soon!

Day 111

More signs of spring: the burning bush looks dormant, but there are buds at the ends of the branches!

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Day 110

We will be hunting for signs of spring for the next few days.

Lecothoe in bloom! This bush is a good 15 feet high, and is actually called out on the site plan for my house, circa 1928!

Day 109

Moss may not grow on a rolling stone, but it does grow on my stone wall.

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 108

Moss at the base of my back steps. There's actually new growth here, if you know how to look at it.

Day 107

Today's challenge: Illustrate being outdoors.
With a blurry moon because of a terribly long exposure, but you can see the trees lurking above me!

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Day 106

Take a photograph that illustrates being indoors.

No word on whether the photo should imply a wish to be outside.

Friday, April 15, 2011

Day 105

Pam asked where I've been the last 2 weeks. This should explain everything!
Thanks for waiting.

Day 95

Hunting for signs of spring and not finding them. But the sky was nice, clouds notwithstanding.

Monday, April 4, 2011

Day 94

A gate post with a solar light over its sign at night. I liked it. Pardon the blur, but it didn't show with the flash.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Day 93

I sent the little boys out to hunt for signs of spring, and this is what they found.

A chewed, thorny stick. No buds. No green. No spring.

Day 91

Joann's Fabric here is located on the side of a steep hill. The driveway is treacherous, but the view is spectacular, as you can see. It was dusk, so it's a little blurry, but there's a restaurant immediately below and across the street from this store, and a mall below that. Beyond the mall, the valley opens up for miles, and that's where Scranton and many small towns are situated.
